Hundertwasser Haus

Hundertwasser House

One of Vienna's most popular tourist attractions: a residential house, colorful, assymmetric, and covered with plants and trees. Friedensreich Hundertwasser, master of unconventional architecture, constructed this building in 1985. My son Pascal and I were there in the queue for a visit at the opening celebration!

Oh my gosh, that is so colorful and it has to be one of those most interesting pieces of architecture I've ever seen. Very cool! Thank you for sharing it. I love your blog!

Hi Vera,
Imagine my surprise to see a post from my friend and neighbor, arikbo. It's her we have to thank for this new venture into the blogging world. She's been a great inspiration to me, and suggested I start a blog. Then you followed suit. She's very shy though, so I won't tell you her real name.

I just love this building. Not only the odd shapes, but each section done in a different color! Being a patchwork quilt maker, this really appeals to me. I don't see why many more buildings aren't made of all colors like this one is. You often see odd shapes, but not odd colors. Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo. I hope you and Pascal had a nice time on the tour. Take care, Carol Jean :)
